The New Testament of the Bible consists of twenty-seven books, which include:
- The Four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John
- The Book of Acts
- The Letters of the Apostle Paul: Romans, 1 and 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 and 2 Thessalonians, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, and Philemon
- The General Epistles and Revelation - Hebrews, James, 1 and 2 Peter, 1, 2 and 3 John, Jude, and the last book of the entire Bible, Revelation.
The New Testament focuses on the life of Jesus Christ of Nazareth and the birth of the early church. It fulfills God's promise to Israel of sending a Messiah to save them and extends this promise to the whole world through the Apostle Paul's preaching to the Gentiles.
The four Gospel writers provide accounts of Jesus Christ's life from his birth to his resurrection. Each writer offers a unique perspective and style that complements the overall testimony about the Savior.
The Book of Acts covers the stories of the early church after Jesus Christ's resurrection and ascension into heaven. It reveals how believers received the Holy Spirit and demonstrated God's power within them. Additionally, it depicts Saul's transformation into Paul and his calling to preach about Christ.
The Letters of the Apostle Paul chronicle his new life in Christ and contain messages he sent to various churches. These letters address specific issues faced by the churches at that time, many of which remain relevant today. Paul's messages often convey encouragement, warnings, wise counsel, and instructions for living by faith.
The General Epistles and Revelation include writings from a variety of authors like the Apostle John, Timothy (Paul's spiritual son in Christ), the Apostle Paul, James, Peter, and Jude. These writings offer unique messages related to the revelation of Jesus Christ, a lifestyle of faith combined with good works, encouragement during trials, warnings about distorting God's grace, and the ultimate victory of good over evil through Jesus Christ.
